Landscape Designer/Architect/Estimator/Project Manager – posted 1/9/2017

Reports to: President/Ownder or Sales Manager
Works with: Leadman, office manager, owner and sales manager

Position Summary/Position Goals: 

This sales position is responsible for the prompt and courteous follow up of landscape design and construction leads/referrals, the creation and presentation of detailed landscape designs and construction budgets to clients, and assist the foreman in project management of the sold projects. Position is responsible for timely, professional and efficient response to clients, foreman and office manager needs, including accounts receivables. Works with design/sales and management teams to achieve all productivity, revenue and company goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This individual is to work closely with the foreman to manage his or her sold projects. They are responsible to make sure all aspects of the project are taken care of by either office management, foreman or self. Must be able to communicate with vendors, employees and clients in a clear and concise manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the best interest of the company at all times including drive time and all interactions with clients, vendors, peers, co-workers and subcontractors
  • Follow up with sales leads and referrals in a timely and energetic manner
  • Development of landscape plans and budgets
  • Communicate and work with client to achieve their budget needs
  • Project management of ordering materials, layout of projects and schedule
  • Client communication from start to finish of the project and follow up
  • In charge of conducting and processing change orders
  • Assist with office manager to keep account recivables up to date and on time
  • Maintain company vehicle to have a professional appearance
  • Obey all traffic laws and safe dricing skills at all times
  • Give all pertinent client information to the office manager for computer input
  • Work with Design/Sales team to generate leads and referrals

Required Characteristics:

  • BA or BS (or higher) in Landscape Architecture or Design (or similar field) from an accredited university
  • Valid drivers license
  • Three to five years of professional experience in landscape design or landscape sales
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Strong computer skills in word, office, excel and CAD (or similar computer design programs)
  • Strong plant knowledge for Colorado
  • The ability to work with others and multi-task

Landscape Foreman/Project Manager- posted 2/15/2017

Reports to: President/Owner, Operations Manager
Works with: Owner, Office manager, Operations Manager, Sales Associate, Laborers

Job Description: 

The Landscape Foreman is responsible for the installation, completion and management of landscape and hardscape projects with great precision and business minded efficiency.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct activities on the job site, they include but are not limited to: coordinating work flow, hands on work, and operating a variety of machinery
  • Manage personnel effectively and efficiently
  • Communicating production goals (and other items) with crew members, supervisors, and clients
  • Train and promote the development of subordinates in the best practices of installation and company standards
  • Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance
  • Track and record all job expenses, including but not exclusively materials and hours worked
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
  • Other duties as required

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and manages landscape crew
  • Ensures that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
  • Participates in and conducts all job site safety briefings with crew members
  • Ensures that all crew members utilize all required personal protective equipment
  • Understands and instructs crew members on proper job site security procedures
  • Ensures that all installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
  • Ensures that all equipment safety and maintenance procedures are followed

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Commercial Driver’s License (preferred) and reputable driving record
  • Proficient heavy equipment operating skills including front end loaders, mini-excavators, and
    skid steer machinery with various attachments; other construction equipment as needed
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications
  • Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees: identification and cultural requirements
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientated
  • Excellent attention to detail while working in a fun & fast paced environment
  • Verbal & written communication skills
  • Good time management skills; be available for long hours all year round
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients,
    contractors, vendors, other designers)
